Wonders of modern chemistry part 10

Update on second chemo session.

Had some trouble accessing the port again - took three needles and the attention of an "expert" nurse - but it is still working.

Had in-hospital infusions of Oxaliplatin and Irinotecan yesterday. Most noticable side effects were tingling fingers and sensitivity to cold bot in fingers and mouth - as well as a "numb tongue". These are known side effects of Oxaliplatin, and have settled down somewhat today, although still there.

I was sent home with a portable pump infusing 4800mg of Fluorouracil over the next 46 hours.

Currently at home, feeling tired - did not get a great night's sleep. Also, while not nauseous, my appetite is down - but I managed some breakfast today.

Will report again after I have the portable pump disconnected tomorrow afternoon.

Hi Jon,
it doesn't look like my previous messages have come through, very sorry to hear of your news, you're on quite a journey. It's amazing how paper based our hospital system remains and the duplication of writing is crazy. Thanks for keeping us updated, thinking of you and Denise often. Kindest regards Jenny B
